Huanan MixC One | Dalian, China
Dalian Huanan MixC One is an 84,000 square meter retail shopping mall containing more than 260 individual stores. The designers set out to create a superlative shopping experience with the concept of a social hub consistently developed around the user’s perspective.
StudioSZ was engaged by both the interior designer, Ippolito Fleitz Group / Identity Architects, as well as the project’s lighting design, HDA, to create a comprehensive set of architectural and interior photographs for the shopping mall project.

StudioSZ approached photographing the Dalian Huanan MixC One shopping mall strategically in order to showcase the project comprehensively. Over the course of two days we were able to capture imagery that told a compelling story of this new retail destination in China's northeastern city of Dalian.

When photographing large scale shopping malls, StudioSZ always proactively engages with our client in order to better understand their photography goals along with any challenges we may face on site. This focus on the photoshoot's pre-production helps to ensure that there are no unexpected surprises during the actual shoot day.
One key challenge for the Huanan MixC One shoot was that both the interior designer and the lighting designer had unique needs which we set out to accommodate.

Over the course of two days, the StudioSZ team was able to create a cohesive set of over 40 images for the Dalian Huanan MixC One retail project. These photos have helped the project garner many awards since its completion in 2023.
