Hangcheng Future Art Gallery | Hangzhou, China
Hangcheng Future Center Art Gallery is a project that transforms a conventional sales center into a cultural experience. Chinese real estate developer, China Resources, engaged interior design firm Just Design to infuse a series of artworks into what would traditionally be a simple sales center for newly constructed residential units.
Just Design engaged StudioSZ to capture both the interior design as well as the inner courtyard space of this project in Hangzhou, China.

The unique functional mix of a sales center blended with art gallery made for a photoshoot that set itself apart from a typical single-use project. Our goal was to skillfully balance showcasing our client’s interior design along with the artwork that animates the spaces throughout.

Challenges were minimal for this shoot, as we were not under a time constraint and there were very few visitors to contend with on site. Given its museum-like quality, the majority of spaces do not receive natural light and our client specifically asked us to document the project with the designed interior lighting.

Our second photoshoot for Just Design generated a collection of interior photographs that highlighted the unique nature of this art-infused sales center space. We delivered an image set that told the compelling story of this two level cultural space, ensuring to document it at all scales, from the overall all the way to the material detail.
