T. Rowe Price HQ | Baltimore, Maryland

Comprised of two buildings linked by a lobby atrium, T. Rowe Price’s Headquarters in Baltimore, Maryland takes advantage of its prominent location along Baltimore’s Inner Harbor, re-connecting pedestrians to the waterfront.

StudioSZ was engaged by long-time repeat client, KPF / Kohn Pedersen Fox, to photograph both the interior lobby and exterior of the project.

  • Much of what needed to be conveyed with our set of architectural images is contextualizing T. Rowe Price’s HQ within its amazing location.  The site was a formerly abandoned brownfield lot, and the architect needed us to highlight that the project is much more than just an office for an investment firm.  It’s a gift to the city and the re-birth of Baltimore’s waterfront edge.

  • We were asked to document this project in two different stages.  First, we needed to photograph the interior of the connective lobby atrium before T. Rowe Price’s staff moved and we lost access forever.  These ‘you only get one shot at it’ type of photoshoots can be the most challenging and pressure-packed.  Careful planning with our client both before and during the shoot helped ensure we were able to create a comprehensive set of interior photographs during the first shoot.

  • Two separate shoots, six months apart, yielded a set of architectural and interior photographs that showcased this incredible project in a way that has been well-received by the media and awards programs alike.  Whenever possible, we highly encourage our clients to consider budgeting for multiple shoots of a single project, as there is oftentimes never one single perfect time to document a project.
